Xiamen Airlines has been identified as the customer of 25 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800s listed as unidentified on Boeing’s Orders & Deliveries website in early August. The order is worth US$1.9 billion at 2007 average list prices.
“This order of 25 737-800s plus 10 purchase rights allows us to simplify our fleet with the most cost-efficient and superior-performance airplane in its class,” said Yang Guanghua, president, Xiamen Airlines.

Portsmouth made the biggest move so far on the final day of the transfer window with the signing of Chelsea right-back Glen Johnson for a fee believed to be close to ё4million.
The 23-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Fratton Park, has agreed a four-year contract with Harry Redknapp’s side.
At the same time Serbian Dejan Stefanovic has left Portsmouth to join Fulham for #1million on a two-year deal, subject to a work permit.
Gerhard R. Fasching, an industry veteran with over 34 years of experience in the hospitality business, has been appointed General Manager of Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park in Shanghai, China.
Gerhard will oversee the training of all hotel management staff, ensuring that the training programmes are of the highest standards in the industry.

Clive Brittain believes Albabilia is still improving ahead of her toughest assignment to date in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday.
Brittain has handled some of the greatest fillies to grace the turf such as Pebbles, Sayyedati, User Friendly and Crimplene.
And after Albabilia’s victory in the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket last time out, Brittain even drew comparisons with his new starlet and the brilliant Sayyedati, a winner of five Group Ones.

As an alternative, the Irish Derby winner could instead travel to France to take up his next assignment.

Dejan Stefanovic has joined Fulham from Portsmouth on a two-year deal for ё1million, subject to a work permit.
The Serb moves after four years at Pompey following a move from Vitesse Arnhem in July 2003.

Sir Percy to stand in Newmarket

Last year’s Epsom Derby winner Sir Percy is to stand at Kirsten Rausing’s Lanwades Stud in Newmarket.
The four-year-old colt, owned by Victoria and Anthony Pakenham, is best remembered for his last-gasp triumph in the premier Classic.
Bought by trainer Marcus Tregoning for 16,000 guineas, the son of Mark of Esteem was champion two-year-old of 2005 thanks to being unbeaten in four starts, culminating in the Group One Dewhurst Stakes.
