Richards set for scan

Micah Richards will have a scan on his knee today with England manager Steve McClaren as well as Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson anxious to know the outcome.

The 19-year-old defender was carried off on a stretcher in the 1-0 victory at Bolton Wanderers last night in the Carling Cup.

Richards left the Reebok Stadium in a positive frame of mind but he might be struggling to make England’s possibly vital Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia on 21 November at Wembley.
